Snow Day

Last night, the temperature plunged more than 30 degrees and blustery rain began. Cold rain continued this morning, turning to a wintry mix at some point while I was sitting in the dentist's chair having both sides of my face numbed. Unable to move my lower lip at all, I drove slowly through the slushy streets to pick Ben up early from day care. Around midnight, the precipitation is supposed to turn to snow--but only after substantial amounts of ice have accumulated.

Ben has been excited about the prospect of snow, and the white stuff falling from the sky was good enough for him. We talked him out of attempting a snowball fight, but he played out in the dark for a good long while. Tom shoveled diligently, pausing only to take the first and last pictures.
