February Tulips

Today promises to be the coldest day of the season in St. Louis. When we went out this morning, the cold air took my breath away. There were flurries earlier, but now the sky is simply gray. From my desk, I can see clouds of steam billowing from the laundry vent.

I'll juxtapose with the frigid weather these studies of tulips. The grocery store has been bright with flowers lately, as if everyone else is longing for spring too.
